Thoughts from Rose Smith...

I have been most fortunate in having survived most of the past 100 years. Like all others, I have seen the best of times and the worst of times. The worst being two major world wars plus many minor wars, the Holocaust, the inhumanity of man, intolerance, vengeance, along with hurricanes, floods, fires, tornadoes, eruptions, etcetera. The best of times being the advent of the automobile, the airplane, men landing on the moon, our ventures into outer space, the conquest of so many diseases that have plagued us for centuries and, one of the most fascinating and comparatively recent happenings, the advent of the Computer Age and the Internet which has brought the world in its entirety into our homes, at the touch of a button or mouse. I am looking forward with great interest to the 21^st Century and what it will hold for the future of mankind and Earth.

And, as we begin our journey into a new century I would like to extend an invitation to anyone wanting to submit your thoughts on the past 100 years. Let us take advantage of the gifts from the 20^th Century and use the Internet to share thoughts, ideas, and learning gained in the past to usher in a new millennium.
