Since the dawn of history,
The ginger plant root has eased digestive misery,
Whether nausea, flatulence, or indigestion,
And even for sickness from motion.  
I was much heralded by Chinese Emperor and peasant,  
For my healing and ability to make foods pleasant.
Ancient Greeks wrapped me in bread,  
To aid their digestion after being fed,
While today you have men made of Ginger Bread.
And from England as Ginger Beer,
I did sail to America where I became known as Ginger Ale.  
By putting a snap in the pump of the heart,  
I stimulate the system of blood circulation.  
I ward off heart attack and stroke,  by reducing serum cholesterol  and protecting against the development of blood clots,  known also as platelet aggregation.

COLDS/FLU- Helps kill influenza virus by enhancing immune system's ability to fight infections.  Its anti-nausea  aspects can be delivered by ginger ale, tea, or as spice.  (Rx: 12 oz ginger ale for nausea).  Ginger also relieves headaches.

INCREASES CIRCULATION - Heart Disease/stroke, Run down Feeling, Dizziness and Vertigo, Headaches:  By increasing the muscular contractions of the heart atria, there is an increase in overall circulation.   Ginger also helps reduce serum cholesterol, which can slow down circulation. Ginger has been proven to help prevent internal  blood clots and to help lower blood pressure. Ginger Root stimulates  the central nervous system controlling the heart and respiratory centers.

ANTI-NAUSEA ACTION - MOTION SICKNESS/MORNING SICKNESS/SEA SICKNESS - As effective as popular drug Dramamine.

DIGESTIVE AID - GAS, FLATULENCE, INDIGESTION, STOMACH ACHE -increases blood circulation in gastrointestinal (G.I.) tract, soothes G.I. tract (antispasmodic) to relieve indigestion and abdominal cramping, and helps restore & normalize proper tone and reflex faculty of the intestines.  In addition, Ginger Root increases production of saliva  in the mouth and dramatically increases digestive enzyme amylase in the saliva to additionally aid digestion.  And, Ginger Root also contains a very effective digestive enzyme zingibain.

WOMEN'S HEALTH - antispasmodics such as Ginger Root soothe the uterus as well as the intestinal tract and may ease menstrual cramps.

STRESS PROTECTION - Ginger Root appears to limit the effects of adrenergic stimulation  which is felt as "pin-and-needles".

ARTHRITIS - As Ginger Root is a proven anti-inflammatory agent, some arthritic victims may find it helpful.
