The joust had concluded with the King's daughter being victorious
and the crowd was leaving the bleachers. The pretzel man and I got
up and followed the people.
"Where are we going?" I asked, to my new friend walking behind me. "They are going to the King's Kitchen, but you are going back from whence you came." The voice was different and I spun around to see a wizardly clad man. "Who are you?" I asked. "Marlin, the Florida Wizard," he laughingly replied. "Who else would I be at the South Florida Renaissance Festival?" His laughter seemed to take me into its center, spinning me, taking me somewhere else.
I looked up and saw my two friends standing above me. I looked around and saw two sleeping Renaissance workers I had stopped to photograph, while waiting for Peter to get the crystal rose. |
| I guess they were not the only ones to
have fallen asleep.
"What a dream I had," "You were even snoring," Peter noted. We made our way toward the exit. I was thinking of the day's events and turned around for one last look.... I wonder who the woman is who stood just beyond the entrance to the South Florida Renaissance Festival world with Marlin, the South Florida wizard? |
My gratitude goes out to all those who
participate in such unique and
wonderful events. Renaissance Fairs
and Festivals are held throughout the
United States. In South Florida it
happens every winter. Look for the
South Florida Renaissance Festival.
There is much more to it than I have
portrayed. It is a wonderful place to
take the family.
